Glass Replacement Operation
Use your estimating system or RepairCenter to adjust for a glass replacement operation. This type of operation will have the part(s) and labor on the same line. A quarter panel repair will include the remove and install (R&I) labor for the glass. The labor or a portion of the line needs to be converted to a sublet dollar value. If possible, write the procedure in the estimating system the way you will process the operation. If the operation will be sublet, write it up as sublet. If the operation will be completed by a technician in your shop, write it up as labor. There are exceptions when an insurance company may require you to write up the operation differently than the way you plan to process the operation.
Note: When converting lines in RepairCenter in any area other than RO > Repair > Lines, the sales dollars will not be adjusted.
