Flag Technicians
Use the Management > Flag Hours tab under the Labor menu for Flat Rate and Commission technicians to indicate what you will pay for working on a repair order. For commission or flat rate employees, you can enter flag hours as described below. Flags for hourly workers display automatically based upon the actual time worked. (You cannot edit the data in the Hrs Worked field. However, you can void both Actual Hours and Flag Hours (separately) for techs on the Posted Hours tab.)
The Flag Hours tab contains two lists: the top list is by technician name; the lower list is by repair order.
Tip: Use auto-flagging to pay technicians a percentage of the assigned labor for each labor category as vehicles are moved out of a department (see Auto-Flagging for more information).
How to

- Click the Labor menu
or click the arrow under the Labor menu, and then click Flag Hours.

Select a technician from the list to flag payroll hours for commission and flat rate techs. If you select an hourly technician, ROs will appear but you will not be able to flag hours.
- The list in the bottom section of the tab shows the repair orders assigned to the selected technician. When you have an employee selected, the pay type for the technician shows to the left of the Apply Filter button. Only assigned jobs will appear in this list.
Note: There is a separate line for each repair order and labor type (Dept.) combination assigned to the tech.
- Select the posting date from the following drop-down calendar. Use caution because the date selected will determine which pay period the posted transaction will affect.
- Adjust the Out Date between fields in order to reflect all of the open repair orders.
- Multiple repair orders and labor type (Dept.) combinations can appear in the list. Click the line representing the repair order and labor type (Dept.) combination you wish to flag.
- Double-click in the Hrs Worked field and enter the number of hours to be flagged.
- Press Enter and verify the remaining hours totals within the Hrs Left field to confirm that the hours posted are reflected correctly.
Note: If you enter hours incorrectly, you must return to the Management > Posted Hours tab to void the posting.

- On the Whiteboard, double-click the repair order.
- Select the Labor tab, and then click Flag Technicians.
- Select a labor type line to flag payroll hours for commission and flat rate techs. All technicians assigned to that labor type line are included in the list approximately half-way down the window. The technician must have been assigned hours on the job to display in this screen.
- Select a tech to flag hours. If there is more than one technician assigned, click the name of the technician who's hours are being flagged.
Note: The Post button will be disabled (grayed out) for hourly techs, as hourly techs are flagged based upon their actual hours.
- In the box in the bottom section of the tab, the amounts in the Hours Worked and Pay Amount fields are the full hours and full amount of pay due to the technician. To flag and pay a partial amount, do either step 6, 7, or 8.
- Select a percentage from the Flag Percent of Total field. The amounts will change to reflect the percentage chosen.
- Double-click in the Hours Worked field and enter a new number. The Pay Amount field will automatically adjust.
- Double-click in the Pay Amount field and enter a new amount. The Hours Worked field will automatically adjust.
- Click the Post button.
Note: If you enter hours incorrectly, void the posting in the Posted Hours tab.
