Understanding Assignments

Assignments are requests for work from a customer. You can generate an assignment when a customer requests work from you directly. The customer's insurance agency can also create an assignment. For more information, see Creating Assignments.

Assignment Status:

When an assignment is first created, it has the status of "New."
Once you accept an assignment, the status changes to "Open," and the assignment becomes a work order.
When you complete the work and you submit the work order to the insurance agency for payment, the work order becomes an invoice.
