Vehicle Adjustments

The Vehicle Adjustments section of the Valuation Request Worksheet provides information that is used to make adjustments to the valuation based on the condition of the vehicle, after market parts, refurbished part, and prior damage.

WorkCenter Total Loss offers a choice of two condition rating methods. The setting is determined by the Condition Rating Type field in the application profile of the carrier. The settings are "Age" and "Universal," which is the default. The "Universal" condition rating compares the loss vehicle to a predetermined conditioning rating,  based on the combined vehicle year and vehicle segment data. The age-specific methodology rates all vehicles as a "3" out of a possible "5."

The Adjustment Type can also be set to "Discreet" or "Continuous" in the carrier profile. With a "Discreet" adjustment, the Overall Condition Rating changes from one level to the next to reflect the amount of the adjustment.  With a Continuous Adjustment, even a small adjustment made to an item in a sub-category can cause a "ripple-through" effect that results in a change to the overall vehicle condition adjustment.

Note: If the condition ratings are outside the typical vehicle condition score set in your company profile, you may see an anomalous condition warning before proceeding with your valuation. If you see this warning, you can confirm or return to correct the condition ratings. Valuations submitted with anomalous conditions trigger audit task assignments.
