Step 3: Vehicle Equipment & Adjustments

The information entered in the previous step now appears in the Admin Information and Vehicle ID sections of the worksheet and also in the navigation bar to the left. The breadcrumb trail indicates that you are working on Step 3.

In this step, you will complete the Vehicle Equipment and Vehicle Adjustment sections of the Valuation Request worksheet. As you follow the instructions, refer to the field descriptions below if you need more information.

How to

  1. Click the Collapse button to close the sections of the worksheet you have completed.
  2. In the Vehicle Equipment section of the form, review the package and equipment options selected, and make any necessary corrections applicable to the vehicle.
  3. Under Vehicle Adjustments, do the following:
    1. Under Condition Adjustment, select the option that best describes the condition of each item in the Interior, Exterior, Mechanical , and Tire sections of the form, and enter any Comments necessary.

      Note: If you are submitting a valuation for The Hartford, please provide a written comment for each Condition Adjustment entry. To see a detailed list of condition rating descriptions, place your pointer over either the category or subcategory rating.

    2. Under Prior Damage, enter any applicable prior damage Description and Adjustment Amount. Press the Enter or Tab key to add additional lines.
    3.  Under Common After Market Parts, select the EXTERIOR, INTERIOR, MECHANICAL, and SAFETY/OTHER items that apply to the claim.
    4.  Under Other After Market Parts and OEM Equipment, select the part Category and enter the Description. Then, set the Adjustment Type to either Manual, Automatic, or Quote.

      • For an Automatic Adjustment, enter the Purchase Date and Amount Paid. Then, press ENTER to save the record.

      • For a Manual Adjustment, enter the Adjustment Amount and press ENTER to save the record.

        Note: Quote adjustments are available if you have the Mitchell Aftermarket Part Valuation Service. The Mitchell Total Loss Service Bureau researches the value of the aftermarket part and enters it into the system.

    1. Repeat step d for Other After Market Parts and OEM Equipment you want to enter.

    2. Under Refurbishments, select the part Category and enter the Description. Then, set the Adjustment Type to Automatic, Manual,  or Quote.
      • For an Automatic Adjustment, enter the Purchase Date and Amount Paid. Then, press ENTER to save the record.

      • For a Manual Adjustment, enter the Adjustment Amount and press ENTER to save the record.

        Note: Quote adjustments are available if you have the Mitchell Aftermarket Part Valuation Service. The Mitchell Total Loss Service Bureau researches the value of the aftermarket part and enters it into the system.

    1. Repeat step f for each refurbished part you want to enter.
    2. Under Prior Damage, enter a Description of the prior damage. Then, enter the Adjustment Amount to be applied.
  4. Under Settlement Adjustments, enter any applicable Adjustments, Post/Pre-Tax, and Adjustment Amount. Press the Enter or Tab key to add additional lines.
  5. Under Report Options, do the following:

    • Review the Deductible. If applicable, select Apply Deductible.

    • Salvage. If applicable, make a selection and provide a Salvage Amount.

    • Review the Tax to be used in your valuation reports and adjust as needed. If applicable, select Apply Tax.

    • Make note of the Restrictions listed.

    • Review the Title History Deduction if applicable and select a deduction option and add any applicable title history comments.

    • Select each report you would like to include in the valuation.

  6. Under Valuation Notes, enter any comments that you would like to include in the Valuation Request.
  7. Click Save to save the information entered. Then, take a moment to review the information in the previous sections of the worksheet. If there are corrections to be made or additional information to be entered, click Edit Admin & Vehicle Info. Make the necessary changes and then click Save & Continue.
  8. When the Valuation Request worksheet is complete, click Submit for Review or Submit Request as required by your process. When prompted that the request was successfully submitted, click Close.

Select the check box of each item that applies to the vehicle. Clear the check box of each item that is not applicable.

Lists all standard exterior equipment associated with the vehicle.

Lists all standard mechanical equipment associated with the vehicle.

Mitchell Standard Equipment 1997 - Current Model Years

Exterior, Interior, Mechanical and Safety options are pre-selected for 1997 - Current Model Years.

 

Package Options (1997 - Current Model Years Only)

Clear or select listed items as required. Selected items have check marks. You can click Show Equipment or hover over the text description of the package, e.g., Sport Appearance Group, to view the package equipment.

Mitchell Vehicle Equipment Package and Options use exclusion logic. This logic encompasses packages that should exclude other packages from selection, packages that should exclude other options from selection, and options that should exclude other options from selection.

Mitchell Optional Equipment 1997- Current Model Years

Clear or select listed items as required. Selected items have checkmarks.

N.A.D.A. Vehicle Equipment options use exclusion/inclusion logic. This logic encompasses options that should exclude other options from selection and options that should include other options.

Select the check box of each item that applies to the vehicle. Clear the check box of each item that is not applicable.

 

Red Book Vehicle Equipment

Select the check box of each item that applies to the vehicle. Clear the check box of each item that is not applicable.

Description

Enter a description for other factory equipment that applies to the vehicle. To add additional equipment, press the Enter or Tab keys.

Condition Adjustment

Note: If the condition ratings are outside the typical vehicle condition score set in your company profile, you may see an anomalous condition warning before proceeding with your valuation. If you see this warning, you can confirm or return to correct the condition ratings. Valuations submitted with anomalous conditions trigger audit task assignments.

Description

Enter a description of any prior damage to the vehicle.

Adjustment Type

Select the Adjustment Type, e.g., subtract cost, percentage, Mitchell Derived Amount.

Enter the Adjustment Percentage after selecting the adjustment type of percentage.

Adjustment Amount

Enter the amount to be adjusted for the prior damage, and press ENTER to save the record.

Click to delete the Prior Damage record.

Click to delete the After Market Part record.

Refurbishments

Field Definition

Category

Select the category of refurbished part from the list:

Title History Deduction

Title History Deduction

The title adjustment process compares the price of vehicles with branded titles to similar vehicles with clean titles using transactional data instead of subjective dealer survey methods. The difference in value between a salvage title and a clean title is used to calculate a percentage deduction. The title history deduction percentage is then applied to the base vehicle value and the deduction appears in the loss vehicle adjustments section. The application of the title history deduction to the market valuation can be driven by the vehicle history determined by the AutoCheck Experian vehicle history report or the N.I.C.B vehicle history report automating the process (“Use VHR or NICB to determine and apply the Mitchell derived amount” option).

Subtract $

Select to enter a specific dollar amount ($) to subtract as a Title History Deduction for the vehicle.

Subtract %

 Select to enter a specific percentage (%) to subtract as a Title History Deduction for the vehicle.

Apply Mitchell Derived Amount

Select to apply the Mitchell Derived Amount as a Title History Deduction for the vehicle.

Use VHR or NICB to determine and apply Mitchell derived amount

Select to use the Vehicle History Report or NCIB Report and apply the Mitchell Derived Amount as a Title History Deduction for the vehicle.

Title History Comments

Enter any associated comments for the Title History Deduction.
