Production – Departments
Use the Departments tab in Configuration to associate each department with labor categories. When technicians clock in and out of their jobs, the repair order status is automatically set based on the associations set on this tab.
Shops using auto-flagging Technicians are payed a percentage of the assigned labor for each labor category as vehicles are moved out of a department. must set these associations. Shops using Shop Clock should also set them.
RepairCenter includes four departments (Body, Frame, Paint, Mech) that can't be edited or deleted, but you can choose whether they are used. You can add any additional departments your shop needs.
The name and order of departments indicate a job's status (which is why departments are often referred to as job status departments in RepairCenter). Set the department order to reflect the typical order vehicles move through the departments.
Note: The order you set determines the order in which the departments appear on the Vehicle Location tab.
