General Motors Collision Repair Network

Add your hours of operation in Settings before you start following Collision Repair Network procedures.

1. On the navigation pane in Mitchell Connect, select Settings.
2. Click General Information.
3. Under Hours of Operation, click any of the following:

• 12 Hour or 24 Hour time format buttons to show times as either AM/PM or 24 Hour format.
• Show Weekend check box to show Saturday and Sunday as needed.
• The check box next to the day of the week you are open and select your hours of operation.

  

4. Click Done.

Use the process below for GM vehicles if you have:

• No assignment (e.g. Walk-in)
• A direct repair program that allows Mitchell Cloud Estimating
• Receive an assignment outside of Mitchell Connect

1. Enter a valid customer email address to ensure the customer receives a customer satisfaction survey after the delivery of a job. On the Job Overview page, click the Contact card, and then enter the customer's email in the Email field.

   

2. Write and commit your estimate in Mitchell Cloud Estimating. Click Write Estimate on the Job Overview page to begin the process (see Write Estimate).

   

3. General Motors requires a Pre and Post Diagnostics scan. (See Mitchell Diagnostics for scan information). To receive credit for scan lines on an estimate, complete the scan and add the scan lines to the estimate. In Mitchell Cloud Estimating, do the following:

   1. Click Parts.

   2. Click Reference Sheet.

   3. Click Additional Operations.

   4. Click Scanning, and select the appropriate scan type (Pre Repair Scan and Post Repair Scan).

   5. Enter 1 in the Total Units field, and then click Add Line.

      

4. Commit the estimate.

5. Update the Repair Status on the Job Overview page. Click the Repair Status card to begin the process (see Repair Status). For accurate scorecard metrics, be sure to include:

• Due in Date

• Arrived at Shop
• Estimated Completion Date
• And Delivered Date

  

6. Complete the Repair QA process. On the Job Overview page, click the Repair Plan card to begin the process (see Repair QA).

   

7. Update the Repair Status on the Job Overview page. Click the Repair Status card to begin the process (see Repair Status ). For accurate scorecard metrics, be sure to include the date the vehicle was delivered back to the customer.

   

   Note: When you update the Repair Status, a Consumer Satisfaction survey, necessary for your GM scorecard, is sent to the vehicle owner.

8. When you're ready to submit the job information for General Motors reporting, click the General Motors tab and then click Submit for Reporting.

   

   Tip: The number 1 appears next to the General Motors if you have pending items to be submitted.

9. General Motors Estimate Adviser validates that your submitted estimate meets General Motors repair standards. If there are warnings or errors, provide explanations or update the estimate as needed. Click Done when complete.

   

   

Use the process below for GM vehicles if you receive an assignment in Mitchell Connect for Non-Mitchell estimating systems.

1. Write and commit in the carrier requested estimating system.
2. Add your estimate to Mitchell Connect (see Add Estimates).
3. Make sure a valid customer email address is included in Mitchell Connect to ensure the customer receives a customer satisfaction survey after the delivery of a job. On the Job Overview page, click the Contact card, and then enter the customer's email in the Email field.

   

4. When you complete your estimate, the General Motors tab appears on the Job Overview page. Click the General Motors tab.

   

   Tip: The number 1 appears next to the General Motors tab if you have pending items to be submitted.

5. Re-write your estimate in Mitchell Cloud Estimating. Click the Write Estimate card on the General Motors Partners tab to begin the process (see Write Estimate ).

   

6. Update the Repair Status on the Job Overview page. Click the Repair Status card to begin the process (see Repair Status). For accurate scorecard metrics, be sure to include the date the vehicle arrived at your location and the expected completion date.

   

7. Complete the Repair QA process. On the Job Overview page, click the Repair Plan card to begin the process (see Repair QA).

   

8. Update the Repair Status on the Job Overview page. Click the Repair Status card to begin the process (see Repair Status). For accurate scorecard metrics, be sure to include the date the vehicle was delivered back to the customer.

9. When you complete Repair QA, click the General Motors tab, and then click Submit for Reporting.
10. GM Estimate Advisor validates that your submitted estimate meets GM repair standards. Select the appropriate estimate profile and click Run Compliance.

    

11. If there are warnings or errors, provide explanations or update the estimate as needed. Click Done when complete.

    

    

12. Your estimate and repair information are submitted to your scorecard.

You can view all versions of an estimate directly from the GM tab, whether it was transformed from an UltraMate estimate or from a Mitchell Cloud Estimating estimate.

1. Click the General Motors tab.
2. Click the Estimate card. The Estimates page appears.
3. Click any estimate on the Estimates page to preview, print, or share a PDF copy of the estimate.
