Parts

The Parts tab allows you to create custom part substitution rules for Used, Aftermarket, and Remanufactured parts. This tab also allows you to specify that aftermarket sheet metal should never be used as a substitute. Although parts rules are usually created using Compliance Manager, users of Estimate Review can also create Parts Compliance Rules.

ClosedTo create a Part Compliance Rule

  1. From the Main window, click Profiles.

The Manage Profiles window appears.

  1. At the bottom of the window, under Profile Operation, select Add New Profile.
Or, find the profile you want to change and select Change This Profile.
  2. On the Parts tab, below the list of compliance rules, click Add.

The Parts Compliance Rule window appears.

  1. Enter the Rule Name and Rule Description.
  2. Complete the Vehicle Criteria, Parts Criteria, and Make/Model Exclusions to describe the condition you want to require for compliance. The goal is to create a statement that says, “If these vehicle conditions are true, then use these parts.”

For example, to specify that the repair facility must use original equipment manufactured bumper cover parts on Cadillacs up to five years old or up to 50,000 miles, select the following criteria:

  1. Select the vehicle age and mileage with the appropriate conditions.

  1. Under Part Category, click Select Parts to specify the parts, then click Back.

  1. Under Part Type, select the check box of each type of part that can be used.

For this example, select OE.

  1. Select At Least One Part if at least one part must be used.
  2. Under Make/Model Exclusions, click Select Models. Then, select the models you want to exclude and click Back.

For this example, click Select All, then clear the Cadillac check box.

  1. Select the Rqd check box if the estimate must meet this rule for compliance.
  1. Enter a Non-Compliance Message, which will appear in logs and reports when the rule is not met.
  2. Click Back.

When prompted to save changes, click Yes. Then, click OK to confirm and return to the Parts tab.
