Importing and Exporting Profiles

Installations of both Compliance Utility and Estimate Review can import profiles. Users of Compliance Utility can import profiles created by a user of Estimate Review or by the Administrator. Only installations of both Estimate Review and the Administrative Edition can export profiles.

Closed To import a profile

  1. From the Estimate Review Main window, click Profiles.
  2. At the bottom of the window, in the Profile Operation section, select Import/Export Profiles.

The Import / Export profiles window appears.

  1. Under Operation, select Import Profiles.
  2. Then, do the following:
  1. If the Import from path is not where the profile is located, type the correct location, or click Browse and navigate to it. The path must include the file that contains the profile to be imported.
  2. Click Display Profiles.
  3. In the List of profiles available, select the profile that you want to import, and click the right-arrow button. Only profiles that are valid for import are listed.
  4. To select multiple profiles, hold the CTRL key down and click each profile. To select a range of profiles, hold the SHIFT key down and click the first and last in the range.
  5. To remove profiles from the Profiles to be imported list, select them and click the left-arrow button.
  1. Click the Click to Import button. When prompted, click OK to confirm.
  2. When the process is complete, click Back to return to the Manage Profiles dialog box.

Closed To export a profile

  1. From the Estimate Review Main menu, click Profiles.
  2. Under Profile Operation, select Import/Export.
  3. From the Import / Export profiles dialog box, under Operation, select Export Profiles. Then, do the following:
  1. If Export to does not indicate the correct path where the profile should be exported, type the correct path or click Browse and select it from the directory. The path must include the file with the exported profile.
  2. In the List of profiles available, select the profile that you want to export and click the right-arrow button.
  3. To select multiple profiles, hold the CTRL key down and click each profile. To select a range of profiles, hold the SHIFT key down and click the first and last in the range.
  4. To remove profiles from the Profiles to be exported list, select them and click the left-arrow button.
  1. Click Click to Export. When prompted, click OK to confirm.
  2. When the process is complete, click Back to return to the Manage Profiles dialog box.

Select this option to import profiles.

Export Profiles

Select this option to export profiles. (Not available in Compliance Utility.)

Import from
(Export to)

Shows the path to the database that contains profiles for import, or where profiles are to be exported. Type the path in this box, or click Browse to select it from the directory.

 

Browse

Click to navigate to the file and select it from the directory.

 

Display Profiles

Click to list all profiles available in the current path

List of profiles available

Lists all valid profiles in the specified path. Select a profile and click the right arrow button to add it to the Import list.

Profiles to be imported

List any profiles that you have selected for import. To remove profiles from this list, click the left arrow button.

 

Click to Import

Imports the profiles listed in Profiles to be Imported. This button applies to Import Profiles.

 

Click to Export

Exports profiles listed in Profiles to be exported. This button applies to Export Profiles.

Add to List

Adds the selected profile to Profiles to be imported or Profiles to be exported.

Remove From List

Removes the selected profile from Profiles to be imported or Profiles to be exported.

Back

Returns you to the Manage Profiles dialog box.
