Commit the Estimate

When you are finished writing and reviewing the estimate, you can commit (or upload) the estimate from anywhere in the Estimate Editor. Click the Commit button to submit the final estimate. This will close and lock the estimate. You cannot add, edit or delete any information unless you create a supplement.

How to

  1. From the Estimate Editor, click Commit.

  2. You will receive a Committing this estimate will lock it. Changes to a committed estimate may result in a supplement. notification.
  3. Click Commit and Review to confirm that you want to finalize and commit the estimate.

    Note: You can commit estimates that have zero dollar changes applied to them. Regardless of the type of change made, you can commit estimates with no change to the estimate amount.

  1. If there are failures, errors, or violations against an insurance company estimate advisor profile, they display on the Commit Estimate window.

  2. A link or button displays on the Commit Estimate window depending on the severity of the estimate advisor compliance failure, error, or violation. Select one or more links/buttons to open the Compliance Report on the Estimate page of Mitchell Cloud Estimating.

    Remember, a link is a recommendation on a fix while the estimate can still be reviewed and committed while the button locks the ability to commit until the critical failure is remedied.

  3. On the Compliance Report section of the Estimate page, review the estimate advisor failures. Make the necessary changes to the estimate in order to pass the estimate advisor rules.

  4. Repeat the steps until no critical failures or warnings appear on the Compliance Report and the Commit Estimate window.

  5. Select Commit when the compliance check passes on the Commit Estimate window.

  6. If there are multiple versions of the estimate active, the Commit Estimate window displays the following warning. Your estimate has been recently updated. Please review the latest changes. When Review Changes is selected, the compliance is run again on the updated estimate version and the latest compliance report is uploaded.

  7. You are redirected to the Job Overview page.

    If the Commit Estimate window takes longer than three seconds to redirect, you have the option to select the Job Overview hyperlink which takes you directly to the Job Overview page in Mitchell Connect.

The Estimate card now has a View or Supplement link to add a supplement if you need to make changes. See the "Write a Supplement In Mitchell Cloud Estimating" section.

  1. From the estimate editor, click Commit.


  2. In the Commit Estimate window, click Commit, Review & Print to confirm that you want to finalize and commit the estimate. You can print the estimate after running compliance.

    Note:You can commit estimates that have zero dollar changes applied to them. Regardless of the type of change made, you can commit an estimate without changing the estimate amount.


  3. Chrome: Click the print icon in the new browser tab with the estimate.
