Estimatics

Use the Estimatics tab to configure the paths used to import and export estimate (EMS) files and send opportunities and price parts changeClosed The difference between the list price and the estimate amount. (PPC) updates.

You can configure default paths or unique paths. If you configure a unique path, be sure that path is configured in both RepairCenter and your estimating program. For a list of default paths, see "Estimate program default paths" later in this topic.

If your shop uses multiple estimating programs, the estimate files for each system should be kept in a unique location. Although you can configure multiple estimating systems to use the same location, a shared location can negatively affect RepairCenter's performance.

Note: We recommend setting up files on a network drive, rather than a wide area network (WAN).

How to

  1. On the toolbar, click the More menu list at the top right; then select Configuration.
  2. Click the File Directories tab. The File Directories tab opens to the Estimatics tab.
  3. On the Estimatics tab, under Estimating System Export Directories, select the check box of the estimating program you're configuring a path for.
  4. Click Select Directory.

  5. In the Select Folder dialog box, click the arrow to select a network drive.

    Note: If multiple people use the estimating program, be sure to select a shared network drive.

  6. Browse to the appropriate folder, and then click to select it.
  7. Click OK. The dialog box closes and the path appears.
  8. To set up automated deletion of files from the estimate file directories (saves space and minimizes performance problems), do one of the following:
  • To delete estimate files after they've been imported into RepairCenter, select the Delete estimate files upon conversion check box.
  • To delete estimate files after a set number of days, select the Delete old estimate files after check box, and then type a number of days (we recommend 10 days or less).
  1. Click Update to save your work.

  3. On the Estimatics tab, under Estimating System Export Directories to Send PPCs, click the appropriate Select Directory button.

    Note: If multiple people use the estimating program, be sure to select a shared network drive.

  5. Browse to the appropriate folder, and then click to select it.
  6. Click OK. The dialog box closes and the path appears.

  5. Browse to the appropriate folder, and then click to select it.
  6. Click OK. The dialog box closes and the path appears.
