Review Estimate, Preview Printout, and Print PDF

Once you have completed the estimate, reviewed its contents, and viewed the itemized estimate totals, visit the PDF Preview tab to mark the estimate as final, preview the estimate report/printout that the customer will receive, and print (or download) the estimate in PDF format.

How to

  1. Click Estimate in the navigation menu. The estimate page shows the repair lines you have added along with information about the related parts and operations.

Note: This page shows the ongoing total of the estimate in the upper right corner.

  1. Review the repair lines you have added to the estimate on the Estimate page.
  2. Make any necessary changes to the repair lines (see the section "Add Lines to the Estimate").
  3. When you are finished making changes, click Commit when you are ready to commit the estimate.

  1. Click Preview on the estimate editor navigation menu to view the PDF preview of the estimate. The Preview page shows the estimate report and printout the customer will receive. You can view the estimate total next to the Commit button.

  2. Click the + or - icons to the right, to increase or decrease the display size of the PDF on the screen.
  1. Click Download at the top right if you want to download the PDF estimate file to your computer or other device.

    Note: You can also download the estimate report/printout from Mitchell Connect, you can download an estimate from the Estimate Manager. On the Job Overview page, click the Estimate card, not the dollar amount. Click Share PDF at the top right and select Download from the list.

  2. In the notification at the bottom of the screen, click Save and select the folder where you will save the estimate PDF.

  1. Before printing the estimate report/printout, select the Column format in the Print Format section to the right of the preview.
  2. In the Estimate Column Format field, select the format for the report/printout from the list:
    • Standard
    • Include CEG Values (Audit) - This is the default print format for all users. This format allows you to include Collision Estimating Guide (CEG) labor units on the report, next to the actual labor units on the estimate.
    • Show Labor $ Amount
  3. Click the Print icon at the top right to print the estimate as a PDF.

  4. Follow the instructions from your internet browser to print the report/printout.
  5. Review the preview and if the estimate is acceptable, click Commit.
  6. Print the PDF Preview using the Print button or share via email/download to your computer using the Share PDF button.

    Note: Both margins and font sizes are standardized and consistent when printing the primary estimate, prior damage estimates, and the supplement delta report. If a file is printed using the Actual Size preference, the font sizes for the estimate match what is shown in the estimate preview.

To set the print language for the Estimate Report,

  1. Click the Preview tab in Mitchell Cloud Estimating.
  2. Click the PDF Printout Language list to select a language.

  3. Print, email or download the Estimate Report. It will be in the selected language.

You can modify settings on the Print Preferences tab for the selected Estimate Profile in order to customize the information displayed on the customer estimate report/printout. As long as the correct Estimate Profile is applied, results of these changes can be viewed, printed, shared, and exported on the PDF Preview tab of the Estimate Editor.

Follow the steps to customize the estimate report/printout:

  1. On the navigation pane in Mitchell Connect, click Settings.
  2. On the estimating card, click Estimate Profiles and then click + Estimate Profile. (Alternatively, create or modify an estimate profile in WorkCenter or within an estimate.)
  3. Click the Print Preferences tab of the Estimate Profile.

  1. Make changes to the Print Preferences tab as desired:

    • Estimate Customization - Information that prints on the estimate header that you give to customers. The sections include:
      • Estimate Header - Logo, Header Information, and Total Loss.
      • Contact - Owner, Claimant, Insured, Appraiser/Supplementer, Insurance Adjuster, Insurance Carrier, and Underwriter.
      • Insurance - General Information and Additional Information.
      • Vehicle - Vehicle Information.
      • Additional Information - Additional Content included below the estimate lines and Parts Profile Information includes or excludes Parts Profile details above the estimate lines.
    • Report Configuration - Include additional documents when your estimate is shared such as related prior damage, unrelated prior damage, supplement delta report, and refinish materials calculator report.
    • Estimate Styling - Edit size and weight of the front in the Messages and Disclaimer text sections.
      • Messages and Disclaimer Text - Messages: Top of Estimate, Messages: End of Estimate, Remarks, Alternate Part Disclaimer, and Fraud Disclaimer.

Note: Selecting and deselecting options determines if the fields will be displayed/printed on the estimate report/printout.

  1. Navigate to an estimate that is using the estimate profile.
  2. Click Preview in the left navigation panel to view the estimate report/printout. Notice that any changes made to the \ section of the Estimate Profile are applied appropriately.
  1. Navigate to the Estimate Profile in Mitchell Connect or Mitchell Cloud Estimating.

    1. On the navigation pane in Mitchell Connect, click Settings.

    2. Click Estimate Profiles on the Estimating card.
    3. Click a line to open the profile.

    1. Click Estimate Profile.

  2. Click Print Preferences.

  3. Scroll down to the Insurance Section and click Edit.

  • Type the desired Insurance section header in the Title field.

  • To hide the Insurance section header, deselect the Title check box.

    • To use the default Insurance section header, leave the Title check box selected and the Title field blank.

    • When you are finished making changes, click Save.

    If the Estimate Event Log check box is selected in the Print Preferences section of the Estimate Profile, the Estimate Version prints in the Estimate Event Log section of the Estimate Report. You can edit this setting from the Estimate Profile in Mitchell Connector from Mitchell Cloud Estimating.

    To enable the Estimate Event Log, follow the instructions below:

    1. Navigate to the Estimate Profile in Mitchell

      1. On the navigation pane in Mitchell Connect, click Settings.

      2. Click Estimate Profiles on the Estimating card.
      3. Click a line to open the profile.

      1. Click Estimate Profile.

    2. Click Print Preferences.

    3. Scroll down to the Additional Information section and click Edit.

    4. Select Estimate Event Log check box.

    If you change the estimate format type in Mitchell Cloud Estimating, the selected estimate format is shared with WorkCenter when the estimate is committed and sent. This allows repair facilities to comply with insurance company workflows that require an estimate printout to show CEG values or labor values, instead of labor hours.

    The insurance company can select the print preference for the Estimate Header on the Estimate Profile before assigning it to the repair facility. To select the print profile in Mitchell Cloud Estimating, follow the steps below. You can also select the print profile in WorkCenter and Mitchell Connect.

    1. From the Estimate Editor in Mitchell Cloud Estimating, click Estimate Profile from the left navigation panel.
    2. Click the Print Preferences tab and then click Edit .
    3. Select the required header option and click Apply Changes.

    Reference

    Insurance companies can set whether or not appraisers have access to edit Messages in the Estimate Profile settings. In WorkCenter, navigate to the Message and Remarks page of the Estimate Profile. Activate or deactivate the Allow Appraisers to Edit toggle depending on your company requirements. If the setting is deactivated, appraisers in Mitchell Cloud Estimating see read-only text in the Estimate Profile Message and Remarks section when editing the settings.

    Insurance companies can set whether or not appraisers have access to edit Estimate Styles in the Estimate Profile settings. In WorkCenter, navigate to the Print Preference Estimate Styling tab on the Estimate Profile. Activate or deactivate the Allow Appraisers to Edit toggle depending on your company requirements. If the setting is deactivated, appraisers in Mitchell Cloud Estimating see read-only text in the Estimate Profile Message and Remarks section when editing the settings.

    The following are general notes and issues regarding the estimate report/printout that is given to the customer.

    Estimate Header Fields

    Estimate Header Logo

    The logo for the estimate is added through the Settings in Mitchell Connect. When configured, the logo displays on the left-hand corner of the estimate. See the Shop Information section for additional information and configuration.

    Header Information

    The default or custom header displays centered at the top of the page. See the Estimate Profile's Header Information settings for additional information and configuration.

    Indication of Total Loss

    When the Total Loss Threshold exceeds the Approximate Cash Value (ACV) of the vehicle, the estimate can be converted to a Total Loss. You must first configure the Print Preferences in the Estimate Profile to include the Total Loss label. When this occurs, the estimate displays the Total Loss indication in the upper-right hand corner for the report/printout.

    Estimate ID

    The Estimate ID are File Numbers entered by Staff Appraisers in WorkCenter. They are now included as the Estimate ID on an Estimate and its report/printout. Estimates that haven't been committed are tagged as Original. Then any supplements show as "S#" such as S1 for your first supplement and S2 for your second.

    Quote ID

    The Quote ID is generated from the OEC.
    Claim Number

    If the Claim Number is configured on the Insurance card in Mitchell Connect, it shows up on the estimate report.

    User and Contact Information Fields

    The Owner, Claimant, Insured, Underwriter, Appraisal, and Supplemented By information displays on the next two lines of the estimate. Use the Estimate Customization's Contact Section in the Estimate Profile to include and exclude the desired contact information that displays on the report/printout. The information itself is added through the Contact and Insurance cards in Mitchell Connect.

    "Corrected By" User Information

    When an edit is made to a committed Estimate, the MCE username and contact information appears under the Corrected By header in the Estimate Report. Any changes that do not impact the dollar amount of the estimate (e.g. updating the Odometer) appear in the Supplement Delta Report, PDF Preview, and the original Estimate.

    Vehicle Information Fields

    The Exterior Color, License, Interior Color, Trim Color, License, Condition, Drivable, Odometer, Production Date, Mitchell Service Code, Primary and Secondary Point(s) of Impact, Damage Description, Unit ID, Prior Damage Notes, and Vehicle options displays on the next section of the estimate. Use the Vehicle page of the Job to include or exclude the desired vehicle information that displays on the report/printout by filling in the desired information. The information itself is added through select fields on the Vehicle card in Mitchell Connect.

    If the Odometer Unknown checkbox is selected, then Unknown displays as the value.

    Unit ID

    The Unit ID is an optional field that can be used as the Vehicle ID for fleet operators or rental car companies. It is configured on the Vehicle page of Mitchell Connect. Enable this feature by navigating to the Estimate Customization section on the Print Preferences tab of the Estimate Profile. Select the Unit ID checkbox under the Vehicle Section.

    Damage Description

    This setting is disabled by default and requires manual activation. Enable this feature by navigating to the Estimate Customization section on the Print Preferences tab of the Estimate Profile. Select the Damage Description checkbox. Any damage recorded in the Vehicle Card's Damage Description section now shows up in both the Estimate report, PDF Preview, and Supplement Delta report.

    Estimate and Supplement(s) Fields

    Estimate and Supplement Repair Lines

    Displays repair lines that were added to the Estimate tab along with information about their related parts and operations.

    Recycled Part Vendors

    When Alternate Parts are utilized through the Compare Alternate Parts window from a third party vendor, the parts display in a separate table for Recycled Part Vendors. Shows vendor address , phone number, and email address. The table informs you of the line number, Part Number, Total Price, Vehicle, Description, and VIN along with any additional notes from the supplier for the part(s).

    Estimate Totals

    Displays the current parts and labor operations totals for the estimate in an itemized list of the Totals Breakdown. The table displays an assortment of Labor, Parts, Costs, Gross Totals and Adjustments for a net estimate total of the estimate. Below the Net Estimate Total displays supplemental adjustments for any parts or labor added after the estimate has been committed.

    Disclaimers and Fraud Disclosures

    Part Disclaimers/Fraud Disclosures

    Some disclaimers and fraud disclosures are general while others are State specific for statutory and regulatory requirements. In order for the estimate to meet compliance parameters, certain Estimate Profile fields are required to be active (i.e., the state of Oregon has to be selected with alternate parts repair lines in the estimate in order for their disclaimer to display).

    The estimate report shows part disclaimers.

    The estimate report shows fraud disclosures.

    Event Log Fields

    Cycle Time Information and Repair Status

    The estimate report/printout shows Cycle Time Information and repair status history in the lower left corner of the PDF. The repair status information is entered or modified in Mitchell Connect or in WorkCenter.

    The ability to view repair status and cycle time in the estimate report and the EMS or BMS file export is helpful for the customer and other applications to easily access the information. The EMS file contains cycle time information in the .AD2 extension. The exported BMS file contains this information in the EventInfo tag.

    Estimate Event Log

    Specific events with the dates and times they occurred are included on the estimate report/printout under a section titled Estimate Event Log at the bottom right of the report, next to Cycle Time Information.

    The following events are included with a time stamp:

    • Job Created
    • Estimate Started
    • Estimate Previewed/Printed
    • Estimate Committed: Estimate Not Committed status is included instead of the date on the estimate report if the report is printed before the estimate is committed.
    • Estimate Retrieval ID: When a walk-in job is created or an assignment received, the Estimate Retrieval ID is created and displays associated number for reference here on the Estimate PDF.
    • Estimate Version: The Estimate Version number is printed at the end of the Event Log.

    Footer Fields

     
    Name Description
    Committed On

    This field populates with the date and time that the estimate was committed. If the estimate or supplement is in-progress, this field is blank.

    Version

    Displays the current Mitchell Cloud Estimating and OEM software versions.

    Printed On

    This field populates with the date and time the PDF Preview is accessed.

    Profile (Modified)

    The estimate printout shows when an Estimate Profile has been modified. The word Modified is printed on the lower right corner of the printout.

    Miscellaneous

    Two Tone or Clear Coat Designation

    These designations will also appear on the estimate report/printout if Two Tone or Clear Coat is applied to a specific repair line. Repair lines with Two Tone applied to them are identified on the report/printout by the letter T next to the lines. Repair lines that have both Two Tone and Clear Coat applied to them are identified by the letter A next to the lines.

    Representative Part Number for Order From Dealer Parts

    Shows the representative part number in brackets if the parts number is not identified from the OEM. The representative part number appears on the estimate instead of "Order From Dealer". Brackets around the part ID number display in the Part Search, Part List, Resolution Container, and the Estimate. These changes appear in the Estimate PDF Preview and the committed estimate.

    Tip: Verify the part number and price before ordering the part on the Parts Order page.
