Mitchell Parts Portal (Alternate Part Profile) Settings

Mitchell Parts Portal allows you to create alternate part profiles to help you centrally manage aftermarket and recycled part decisions. When creating a profile, you select the aftermarket and recycled part types, qualities and vendors you want your estimators to see when writing an estimate. Once created, Alternate Part Profiles will be automatically assigned to your shop and available for use in Mitchell Estimating. Part profiles use the Mitchell Alternate and Recycled Parts databases to provide you with the most current information available.

Part Profiles include the following sections:

  • General
  • Aftermarket parts and vendors
  • Recycled parts and vendors
  • Profile Summary

Common Tasks:

  • Create a profile
  • Edit a profile
  • Delete a profile
  • Restore a profile

Note: This feature may not be available to all licenses of Mitchell Connect.

How to

  1. On the Navigation pane, click Settings.
  2. Click Alternate Part Profile.

When you create a profile you make selections among aftermarket, recycled parts and vendors.

  1. Name the profile.

    Note: Profiles must have unique names. Duplicates are not allowed.

  2. Select Aftermarket Parts and Vendors.

  3. Select Recycled Parts and Vendors.

    Note: You must select at least one vendor from either the aftermarket or recycled parts vendors to use aftermarket or recycled parts in your estimates.

  4. Review and, if needed, edit your profile selections.

 

Create a Profile

  1. Click or tap New Profile to begin creating your new part profile.

  2. Name the profile.

    Note: Profiles must have unique names. Duplicates are not allowed.

  3. Enter a profile description.

    Note: Both the profile name and description appear for your estimators when selecting a Part Profile in UltraMate.

  4. Click or tap Save & Next to advance to the aftermarket parts section.

 

Select Aftermarket Parts

  1. Click or tap Yes if you are including aftermarket parts.

  2. (Optional) Click or tap the associated part selection box to clear the box and remove the selection from your part profile.

  3. When you have finished selecting parts, click Save & Next to make your vendor selections.

    Note: By default, all part types (except for Air Bags) are selected when you choose to include after market parts in your profile.

Select Aftermarket Part Vendors

  1. Click or tap Add Vendors if you are including aftermarket parts.

  2. Provide a Zip/Postal Code.

  3. Click or tap Search.

    Note: The Aftermarket Part Vendor search returns a list of vendors that service the Zip/Postal Code or range provided.

  4. Click or tap the plus symbol to add one or more vendors to your profile.

  5. When you are finished adding vendors, click Done.

 

Select Recycled Parts

  1. Click or tap Yes if you are including recycled parts.

  2. (Optional) Click or tap the associated parts category selection box to clear the box and remove the selection from your part profile.

  3. When you have finished selecting parts, click Save & Next to make your vendor selections.

    Note: By default, all categories and types (except for Air Bags) are selected when you choose to include this part type in your profile.

 

Select Recycled Part Vendors

  1. Click or tap Add Vendors if you are including recycled parts.

  2. Provide the City, State/Province, or Zip/Postal code.

    Note: The Recycled Part Vendor search is a proximity search. It returns a list of vendors in the area searched.

  3. Click or tap Search.

  4. Click or tap the add symbol to add one or more vendors to your profile.

    Note: Adding a large list of vendors to your profile may cause delays when downloading the profile in Mitchell Estimating.

  5. Click Save & Review to save your profile and review your profile selections.

 

Review Part Profile Settings

  1. Review the settings in your profile.
  2. (Optional) Click or tap Edit to edit the settings in your profile.

 

  1. Open a current profile.

  2. Click or tap Delete Profile.

  3. At the Delete Profile window, click or tap Delete.

    Note: Deleting a profile is not a permanent deletion. Deleted profiles can be searched and restored.

  1. Click or tap Deleted Profiles at the bottom of the Part Profile List page.
  2. Click or tap Restore Profile.
  3. Click or tap Done. The restored profile will now be available in the profile list.
