Photo Based Estimating

Photo Based Estimating allows vehicle owners to take their own photos of the damage to their vehicle using a specialized smart-phone app. These images are forwarded to the insurance company and the insurance company creates an assignment with these photos already added to the Attachment Gallery. Use the Attachments Gallery to view images or request additional photos from the vehicle owner. Use the images to assess the damage and write the estimate.

How to

View attachments in the attachments gallery. You can change the view to thumbnails to see all images at once.

  1. On the Job Overview page, click anywhere on the Attachments card.

  2. You have the option of changing the view by clicking one of the following:
  • Click to view larger images and descriptions.
  • Click to show attachments as thumbnails for a quick glance at all of your attachments. Use this option if you have multiple attachments and need a quick way to scroll through them.
  1. Click any image to see the full image. You can view the next image or previous images using the arrow buttons next to the image. Click Done to close the image.
  2. Click Job Overview to return to the Job Overview page.

Request additional photos from the vehicle owner if you need more information than the original set of photos provided. You can include instructions to the vehicle owner with your request. This action placed the assignment on hold until the photos are received from the vehicle owner.

Note: You can only request additional photos from each vehicle owner once.

  1. On the Job Overview page, click the Attachments card.
  2. On the Attachments page, click Request Photos.

  3. In the Request Photos window, select the photo category in the Category list.
  4. In the Request Photos window, enter instructions for the vehicle owner in the Request Detail box. The vehicle owner receives a text message with the content you enter, a standard greeting from the insurance company, and a link to begin adding new photos.

  5. Optional: Some users have the option to send Notes to Journals. Enter information in the Notes box, then click Send to Journal. The notes are available for all users in your organization to see.
