Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)

Use the DTC Index to access a comprehensive list of all Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) for On-board Diagnostic System (OBD-II) vehicles with links to additional troubleshooting information to help diagnose the source of the problem.

How to

  1. In TechAdvisor, perform a Vehicle Search either by decoding the VIN, or entering Year, Make, and Model.
  2. Click DTC Index (Trouble Codes).
  3. Do one of the following:
  • If you know the DTC Code, enter the code in the Search field and click . Apply search filters as needed in the search list.
  • If you don't know the code, along the left side is a complete set of trouble codes for the selected vehicle. When one of these codes is selected, a table appears on the right. In the table, all the Diagnostic and Reset procedures are listed by code and description.
  1. Click one of the DTC code links to be taken directly to that article.
